Shared Commitment
Developing flourishing human beings starts with a shared commitment on the part of parents and educators.
A school is at its best when we work together to create a culture of community investment which improves our school each year.
State funds provide us with what we need to operate our schools, and we are grateful for those resources. Carrying out our mission, however, requires us to set a higher standard for success than simply keeping the doors open. It is for this reason we seek a shared commitment from our families to create an environment where our students will not just graduate, but learn and flourish.
Community Giving
For one-time donations outside of North Texas Giving Day, or to set up monthly contributions, please donate through the Responsive Ed Foundation.
The essential priorities of our distinctive educational model cost more per student than what we receive from public funding. Founders Classical Academy of Flower Mound asks our families for contributions to our annual fund to help bridge this gap.
As a public charter school, Founders is a tuition-free school with the freedom to deliver the type of education you want for your child. The trade-off for this freedom is that charter schools receive less funding per student than conventional district schools.
Your generous support plays a huge role in advancing our mission and directly helps students by keeping facilities clean and safe, making sure classrooms are properly outfitted and have needed books and resources, funding vibrant extracurricular programs, and keeping our excellent teachers here for the long term.
100% of your contribution stays at Founders Classical Academy of Flower Mound to support our school.
We invite all families to give as they are able to narrow the gap between what we need for our academic model and what we receive from public funding. Thank you for partnering with us as we pave the way for a brighter future.

Volunteer & Substitute Teaching
Volunteering
ResponsiveEd has created educational environments that celebrate learning, respect individual differences, build character, and instill lifelong core values. A large contributor to the success of our students and faculty has been the support of the community, specifically those who volunteer their time and expertise. Volunteers provide the support needed for educational experiences enjoyed by our students. Thank you for joining the ResponsiveEd family, and thank you for the life-changing investment you are making in tomorrow’s leaders.
ResponsiveEd policy requires each volunteer undergo a background check before being allowed to work on a site.
-
All volunteers should allow up to 3 weeks for processing.
-
Volunteer Handbook must be read, last page signed and returned to the front office.
-
To verify that you have been approved as a volunteer, please contact the front office.
-
Volunteer applications will remain active for one year from the application date. You must reapply each year to be considered for volunteer approval.
-
By completing the online application, you are agreeing (with your electronic signature) to a background check by Responsive Education Solutions.

What is Watch D.O.G.S?
Watch D.O.G.S. is a volunteer opportunity for men to make a difference in the educational lives of children.
The two goals for our Watch D.O.G.S. as stated by the National Program are:
1. Provide a positive male role model for students, with our presence demonstrating that education is important.
2. Providing an extra pair of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.
How Do I Become a Watch D.O.G.?
The 4 steps to be a part of the Watch D.O.G.S. are:
1. Become an approved volunteer through the school here.

What Does a Day Look Like?
-
7:15 am Arrive ahead of carline.
-
Check-in at the front desk. Your child(ren) can be with you at check-in and then head in to school once carline starts moving.
-
Receive your schedule for the day from the front desk.
-
7:20 am - 8:00 am Help with carline. This means helping with car doors and providing a warm welcome to help students start their day.
-
8:00 am Report to class. There may be things like helping in your child's classroom, helping with lunch, monitoring hallways, helping with recess, afternoon carline, etc. This will vary depending on the day; sometimes your child's class will be taking a test and there is not a lot to do, while other days will find them working on a project and being grateful for some extra hands. The best motto for Watch D.O.G.S.: Be Flexible!
-
* If you are asked to do anything that makes you uncomfortable for some reason, please let the staff member know. The teachers and administrators are great to work with and will be understanding. They are trying to give our Watch D.O.G.S. opportunities to join in, so take advantage as you are comfortable! *
